A modern casino is a large complex with multiple floors and a variety of gambling games. In addition to traditional games such as craps, roulette, and blackjack, casinos often feature Asian games such as sic bo and fan-tan. The minimum bets on some of these games can be very high, and players may find themselves sitting around tables with $100-a-roll minimums for hours at a time.
Some casinos use technology to monitor player behavior and increase security. For example, some casinos have catwalks in the ceiling above the games that allow surveillance personnel to look down through one-way glass at the activity on the table. Other casinos use video cameras to supervise the play of a game, and still others have systems that can track a specific player’s movements throughout the casino. These technologies have dramatically increased the level of security available in casinos.
